After poet James Yeary and I realized that collectively we have only been to our neighbor city to the north a handful of times, we decided to take the train to the end of the line and walk to Vancouver with no agenda. The result is a lyrical story about our sister that we know virtually nothing about, which is a shame because we learned that many sections are very beautiful.

Historic Oregon City is a small mill town just south of Portland (not to mention it's elder). Despite being so close to my city, it seems to keep its own identity and refuses to be inundated with Wal-Mart’s and MCmansions (at least the parts I saw and drew). There is a good chance that Oregon City looks very similar to the town that you grew up in.

MY DAY WALKING ACROSS PORTLAND METRO. VOL. 1-3.
The walk that defined the MY DAY project. Poet James and I decided to document our walk across Portland’s entire urban area. Day 1. We walk across Portland’s eastern suburb, Gresham to the edge of downtown Portland. Day 2. We traverse familiar streets running into spouses and friends and documenting things that will never get old to us. Day 3. We battle suburban growth, troubled teens, and Nike Town trying desperately to reach the western end of Portland’s child, Hillsboro while it rains for 9 hours strait. Our darkest issue yet.OUT OF STOCK---Walking across Gresham, E. 247th to E41st.---OUT OF STOCK
